As well as providing hands-on courses on the design and construction of historical clothing The School of Historical Dress is building its own resource of teaching aids and instructional literature.

PATTERNS OF FASHION 5; The content, cut, construction and context of bodies, stays, hoops and rumps c.1595-1795 is exclusively on sale here for pre-orders. The official publication date is 31st October 2018 and we will start send out copies during the last week of October/first week of November in order of purchase.

Our first publication FOOTWEAR: shoes and boots from the Hopkins Collection by Alan and Vanessa Hopkins, is available for purchase. Our second school publication WAISTCOATS: from the Hopkins Collection c.1720-1950 by Alan and Vanessa Hopkins is also on sale in the ‘BOOKS’ section here.
