HEADWEAR from the Hopkins Collection features 263 hats, bonnets and caps for men and women from c.1720 to c.1950. The selection consists of 33 examples for men, 211 for women and 19 for children. The items of headwear are shown with close-up details of their shapes, construction, and decoration, alongside images of people wearing similar ones from the same time period. This is the third in a series of books each focusing on a different group of objects from this large and significant collection.

The authors, Alan and Vanessa Hopkins, have been collecting historical clothing, textiles and accessories in the United Kingdom for more than fifty years.

Sir Mark Rylance, who wrote the foreword, is a Patron of The School of Historical Dress

Jenny Tiramani, the series editor, is a dress historian, theatre designer and Principal of The School of Historical Dress.

Due to weight limits with Royal Mail, you cannot order more than 3 books at a time for International orders (7 books maximum in the UK) and no shipping options will be available if you do. Please place multiple orders for more books (no change in postage costs).

Please note that any books to Canada will have to be purchased individually  and sent separately at no surcharge due to weight limits of 2 kg per parcel.
