EMBROIDERY ON 18TH-CENTURY MEN’S AND WOMEN’S GARMENTS
SATURDAY 1st JUNE
1–Day Course – from 10am to 6pm
Embroidery embellished both men’s and women’s 18th century garments, either worked as a border or covering the whole textile surface. Silk and metal thread was applied singly or in combination to spectacular effect.
Students will work samples of stitches in different materials, using the extant examples from the School’s collection as a guide.
