Description
THE CUT & CONSTRUCTION OF 18th CENTURY PETTICOATS & TABLIERS SUNDAY 26th MAY
1-Day Course – from 10am to 6pm
Using extant petticoats from our School collection as well as a reconstruction of a tablier, this class will explore the ways in which these garments were made for use with a variety of dresses, together with the ways in which a frugal amount of fabric could be used.
Tabliers (the French word for aprons) were open petticoats, of which there are three examples shown in Patterns of Fashion 6.
During the course students will make a half-scale tablier in silk.
